Early in September, their very own YouTuber scandal, in which one member, Ned Fulmer, left the group after being discovered having an affair with a subordinate, erupted first in their immediate fanbase, then across the internet, involving dependable Reddit investigators, dependable Twitter analysts, burgeoning TikTok broadcasters, and eventually, Instagram as well. That led to a perplexing, if self-satisfying, day for a significant portion of adults of legal drinking age. It feels fantastic to say “Who cares?” in a setting like this. But for the internet population that experienced the BuzzFeedVideo boom, it was a normal, if unexpected, turn of events.
