Who is Carole Baskin?

Carole Baskin, an animal rights activist from the United States and the chief executive officer of Big Cat Rescue, was born on the Lackland Air Force Base in Bexar County, Texas, on June 6, 1961.

Baskin was the child of Mary Barbara Jean Norris Stairs and Vernon Charles Stairs when he was born.
She is her parents’ only child and hails from a background in which her family was not very well off financially.

She showed an interest in assisting cats when she was nine years old, but after discovering that veterinarians put animals to death, she decided against pursuing a career as a veterinarian. Instead, she chose to help other animals in need.

Baskin asserts that when she was 14 years old, three males who lived directly across the street from her house sexually assaulted her as part of a group and that her traditional Christian family did not offer her any emotional support at this time.

She dropped out of high school and moved in with an employee of a roller rink that was located nearby.
After that, Baskin traveled from Florida to Bangor, Maine by hitchhiking and slept beneath the hoods of parked cars along the way.
After some time, she went out and purchased a Datsun pickup truck, in which she promptly placed her cat.

Early Life

A controversial female business mogul, Carole Baskin will turn 62 in 2023.
At initially, she lived with a very low-income family, and she was also her parents’ only child.
When she was a teenager, she told her parents she didn’t want to go to school because of the financial strain it would put on the family.
They told her to go after her heart’s desires.
Despite this, at the tender age of 15 she ran away from home and began a life of independence.
She had to make it on her own and didn’t want to burden her loved ones by bringing them down with her.
She soon got a job and moved into an isolated condo.

Profession of Carole Baskin

Baskin got his first job in a Tampa, Florida, department store when he was just 17 years old.
To supplement her income, she launched a llama lawn-mowing business and began breeding show cats.

In January of 1991, Baskin wed Don Lewis, her second husband, and began working in real estate alongside him.
It was in 1992 that the two opened Wildlife on Easy Street, a sanctuary for large cats in the Tampa area.

Baskin and her husband used to raise tiger cubs and exhibition cats, but they stopped when they realized the animals were in terrible pain.
To this day, Baskin is the sanctuary’s head honcho.
As soon as Lewis vanished in 1997, she rebranded the organization as Big Cat Rescue.

Facebook, YouTube, and her podcast “The Cat Chat” have all been used to spread her message about the need to take action against private zoos.

Baskin will take part in the upcoming 29th season of Dancing with the Stars in 2020.
She and her partner Pasha Pashkov received the lowest score of the night (11 out of 30) for their paso doble to “Eye of the Tiger” on Survivor’s premiere episode on September 14.

Baskin, through Big Cat Rescue, has lobbied Congress to ban the private trade and ownership of exotic cats.
Her family’s efforts culminated on December 20, 2022, when President Joe Biden signed the Big Cat Public Safety Act into law, marking the culmination of her life’s work.

From 1998 until its passage in 2003, she fought for the passage of the Captive Wildlife Safety Act, which amended the Act’s flaws.
The Big Cat Protection Act prohibits the keeping of big cats as pets and any contact with big cats or their cubs.

Baskin supported only Democrats from 2005-2016, but she has given a significant amount of her gifts to Republicans after 2017.
Both 2020 presidential aspirant Cory Booker and Baskin’s representative in Congress, Kathy Castor, have lately made donations to the Democratic Party.

Carole Baskin, Husband

Her love life was described as being with a man who was a mogul and, to top it all off, completely self-sufficient.
He went by the name Jack Donald Lewis and was also an animal lover.
It was always Jack’s plan to divorce his first wife and marry Carole Baskin.
Approximately 22 years separated their ages.
Carole was 20 and Jack was 42 when they first met.
Despite this, in 1991, they tied the knot in Tampa, Florida.
Jack Donald was reported missing after some time passed.

Carole Baskin recorded a protest about the same for her significant other, and the police eventually tried to locate him.
When the authorities weren’t prepared to find him, it was officially announced that he had passed away.
And yet.
Carole was also suspected of murdering her boyfriend Jack.
In fact, her rival, Joe Exotic, also recorded a song in a video showing roughly the same way a woman killed her husband.
Each and every one of these actions were taken with Baskin specifically in mind.
He did this because he suspected Baskin of manipulating the situation in order to benefit from her future husband.
When the authorities investigated further, they found two tiger skulls that corroborated the accusation against Joe.
