Ten day days before his 36th birthday, in the early hours of January 25, 1996, Jonathan was found dead in his apartment. His body was found on the kitchen floor by 3:00 am by his roommate, Jonathan was reportedly boiling hot water for tea before his death. An autopsy report determined that he died of an aortic dissection. He had suffered from chest pain and shortness of breath a few days before his death.
